2 weeks post gastric bypass I started thinking about the need to ensure a wide range of meal options long term and invested in a this book.
Had I know it was an American book using American measures and American products I wouldn't have bothered!
What is a spaghetti squash? What are soy crumbles? Where can I buy liquid egg white substitute? Just how many mils or grams are in a cup?
Sadly, half the recipes in this book are rendered useless to your average UK reader.
On a positive note, the book is well laid out, provides appealing pictures, and the introduction is split to cater for bypass, band and duodenal switch patients. Each recipe has notes for all three ops, aswell as nutritional information.
Some good ideas, but not what most people want from a recipe book.
