Disappointing December 10, 2008 I. Antonio (Lincoln, England) Hard to follow, very technical, very few recipes, and conflicting advice about certain ingredients and recipes from what I have found in other sources and books. Also this book appears to be a bit out of date with its medical advice due to its published date. I was expecting more day to day dietary suggestions from this book, but it is full of highly technical nutritional information. An OK all round nutrition book but not particularly for women like myself who suffer with endometriosis and want quick, simple and easy diet advice to help with all the pain and suffering of this disease.
Disappointed and confused September 20, 2008 Heather (Sussex, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very technical, long winded and the few recipes available seem to contradict general endo diet advice, with many recipes containing dairy products and sugar which I understand to be pro-inflammatory - one recipe has 6 eggs. Yes the nutritional advice is well researched but I feel not solely relevant for women with endometriosis. Not the type of book I can dip into for quick reference and diet reminders. This book is very scientific and if this is the type of information you are after then this book will give you a long read.
Worth while resource February 2, 2006 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I read this book after diagnosis and much pain/fear/confusion. Then I went to see Dian to get some treatment. It worked for me, very quickly. 2 years down the line I am happy and healthy and the endo is stable. If you don't want to go down the hormone/sugery route - set aside some time to read this book and then go and see Dian.
Long winded, but an interesting read September 15, 2004 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
I started reading this book a year ago and have just finished it! It is quite dry due to the scientific explanations of everything and the fact that you can't just skip a section to go to the part that is relevant to you. If you do, the text inevitably refers to something in a previous chapter.Having said all that, I feel much more knowledgable after reading it and it has helped me to understand what is happening to my body and given me a good idea of how to deal with it in a natural way, without drug treatments. I would recommend this book to any endometriosis sufferer, whether you are more concerened about the pain or the infertility side of it, but don't expect an easy read.
execellent August 8, 2003 D. Wabro (UK) 27 out of 27 found this review helpful
I have found this book excellent. It gives a very comprehensive easy to understand view, it feels supportive. It gives great nutritional advice. It is the best book on endometriosis i have found so far, I would recommend it to everyone with the disease.
