Vegan Cupcakes Take Over THe World November 3, 2008 Don Quinoa (UK) This is one of the best examples of positive thinking in action, the Oprah winfrey angel effect - you are who you most practice to be. The proof is in the pudding. Now Vegan Cupcakes really are taking over the world - Wholefoods market in Kensington now sell vegan cupcakes! This book proves the pathetic free-from vegan bake-well tarts by leading supermarkets need a serious makeover and reformulation. THIS is the way forward!
Just gorgeous October 20, 2008 miggz This book is just fantastic. The array of different flavours and sorts of cupcake is awesome. There are cupcakes for cosy days at home, summer picnics and even posher occasions. I have baked batch after batch for family functions and everybody loves them. I don't announce that they are vegan and only mention it if asked. People are always surprised- assuming vegan food is boring. Far from it! The nicest cakes I have ever made have been from this book. Try it- your friends and family will thank you for it :D And you will be quite pleased with yourself too :D With this book it is so easy to make delicious, varied and exciting vegan loveliness :) p.s try the smores recipe...my personal favourite... so moist.. mmmm... i'm off to bake :D
disappointing! :( September 20, 2008 J. Constant (UK) 0 out of 9 found this review helpful
I was shocked to see that most recipes use Soy Milk/tofu which is proven to be very unhealthy, as soy is only good when it's fermented! Beside that, it also uses a lot of Margarine, which is also proven unhealthy and canola oil. :( The pictures are nice though ...
even has a great gluten free recipe.... August 25, 2008 eggless cookie lover (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
...well technically it has two, but they are really just variations of each other. I would reccomend using 'Dove Farm white gluten free flour' instead of the quinoa flour though - trust me! also, use muffin cases instead of fairycake cases and the cakes will be proper size. The 'Chocolate Gluten Freedom Cupcakes' are brilliant. No-one will know that they are gf unless you tell them. [although they're only good on the day of making and the day after]. The regular vegan recipes are great too, and rely on proper ingredients. They can even be transformed into gluten free without much hassle. ==> great book
Best vegan cookbook I own! August 20, 2008 Ms. S. L. Main Really can't give this book enough praise. The ingredients are easy to find and don't call for expensive 'egg replacers' and what not only found in health food stores like lots of vegan cakes. Has lots of lovely pictures throughout the book and have tried and tested many! Can't recommend this book enough!
