2 out of 5 stars Headache   February 2, 2008

I am only at page 35 and have put this book down in pure frustration. Initially I thought "yes ok I can see me in there" however I am already aware that I am an over thinker and the process I go through, I don't need to read about it to identify it. I had hoped to be given some inspiration in how to manage if differently, but I am fed up with reading the same thing over 35 pages just said in different ways!

The writer attempts to break it down into those that are depressed over thinkers and non over thinkers and studies they have done using interruption techniques, boy I thought my brain was busy!!!

Ok so I haven't finished it, if I do and become inspired I will be back to write another review, though can not guarantee it will be positive. Still at least my overly busy head was interrupted with an over busy book that so far has told me what I already know about myself in so may ways!

This book should be read by everyone who thinks they are a "worrier". There are excellent techniques for stopping this destructive and time wasting habit.
The title is exact and true. Although it could be useful to men I think it is completely written for women and is overtly descriptive and romantic in its narrative.

4 out of 5 stars Very useful advice for people who worry too much   January 27, 2005

I found the chaper on overthinking work particularly useful and would highly recommend this book. I'd like to pass it on to a few friends but haven't figured out a subtle way to do so...

5 out of 5 stars The answer to every overthinkers prayers!   July 16, 2004

I have always thought of myself as a worrier and overthinker. If there is nothing to worry about I worry about this too! I purchased the book about a month ago and it has made a big difference to my life. I have begun to take each day as it comes and if a problem arises I think about it but do not overthink and make the problem ten times bigger by overthinking. The book is full of real peoples personal experiences which is very interesting. From reading the book you can see how easy it is to have a problem and blow it all out of proportion with various thoughts that and fears that really are ridiculous and unrealistic. No person will ever live problem free without worry but this book puts everything into perspective and allows you to think before you overthink! I would highly recommend it.

This book is excellent. It has enabled me to change my life. I have spent many years obsessing over all kinds of things - and I did not even realise I was doing it, it was so natural to me. The author shows how we get into these patterns of thinking where the same old stuff goes round and round in our heads and she suggests ways of getting out of it. Now I realise when I am doing it and I use one of her suggestions to feel happier. I have bought several copies for friends who think like I do and I highly recommend it to every woman as we all do it.
