Very helpful as the thoughts are concise and brief. September 4, 1999 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is one that can be picked up for daily meditations that can be read in a minute, but helps to get through a certain aspect of grieving with the backdrop of Christian hope. Even non-religious folks will find consolation and clear thinking in the meditations.
This book is a Godsend since I lost my husband two years ago May 4, 1999 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I was dealing with the devastation and loss of my husband after a fight with the evil cancer. I did not want to live. My whole life changed and I would have done anything to have him back. But, I kept living and I couldn't get him back no matter what. This book has had a profound affect in helping me deal with and get through this painful phase called grieving. The writings of 365 different people and days describes so effectively the feelings and reality of what grief is. I still read it daily. So many of the comparisons hit home. I have bought it for two friends who have recently lost loved ones. I highly recommend it to any grieving person who needs to understand the emotional and painful process they are going through. You aren't alone.

This little book has been my constant companion in the first year following the loss of my son. This is *the* book to give anyone you know who has experienced the death of a loved one. The quotations from other writers and the author's comments seem to gently bring me closer to peace and solace with the passage of each day. Buy this book. Give this book as a gift instead of flowers or a casserole when someone you know is overcome with grief.
