I found this book to be a good guide as to how help re-train your dog aggressive dog to become more relaxed around other dogs. It explains very clearly methods you can use to work with your dog aggressive dog, and methods of how to prevent your dog from becoming aggressive in the first place.

A clear and concise book, a nice easy read for those who are trying to help their dog, or just curious.

As with most books of this type the advice could be printed in a couple of pages with the rest being personal anecdote. It is the case with this book and my rescue dog would not take any notice of a clicker as it was too hyper from 3 years of abuse. With love and affection it has taken a year to stop her showing her teeth when stroking her ears or head. She is now a dog who loves people and I'm afraid the book was no good at all. There are no magical fixes just patience, understanding and love.

This book is great for ways to deal with all types of aggressive dogs. It details the writers own struggle and is very easy to read and well organized into sections. I have only ever used non-cruel methods with my dog but I am beginning to see results far more successfully with this method than with other methods of positive reinforcement that I have tried.
Whatever type of aggressive incident you have encountered Emma Parsons has a means of coping with it.

Owning an aggressive dog can be a very distressing experience for all concerned. This book is extremely helpful in giving practical step by step recipes for treating aggressive dogs in a humane manner. It is particularly helpful for those treating dog-dog fear based aggression, although also very useful for other types of aggression. Highly recommended.
