Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Not suitable for the European market   December 5, 2001

Whatever the merits of this book, they are overwhelmingly offset by the use of language, ingredients and measurements that are meaningless to most English speakers in Europe.
Added to this, the condescending tone, a feature of American handbooks, quickly becomes irritating.
Finally, many of the recipes are, frankly, pointless.
"Roast Leg of Lamb" invites us to insert slivers of garlic into the lamb, rub it with lemon juice and then dust it with flour(rocket science it isn't)and that's it. It fails to suggest any cooking temperature or time!!!
Living in Europe, unless you plan to eat this book, don't buy it.

5 out of 5 stars a must have for the new low salt dieter   May 20, 1999

This book is great because it has a wonderful variety of low sodium dishes that are easy to prepare and taste great. After I was recently diagnosed with Meneire's disease I had no where to turn to for low sodium dishes. This book has given me the courage to explore this new lifestyle - and enjoy it!
