Dummies? January 9, 2009 Ms. V. L. Roberts (northants) What's the next step down from dummy, because I obviously need that edition. This dvd is difficult to follow as the instructor goes too fast and gives inadequate explanation. Not recommended for beginners.
A fitness DVD that I haven't given up on! January 8, 2009 Jezza (Sunny Sussex by the Sea) Having purchased various boring/impossible/useless fitness DVD's in the past, that end up at car boot sales, I have to say this one is MUCH better! I go to a pilates class and this isn't quite the same, however, I have been making myself get out of bed early and do either the standing exercise or floor work on alternate days (I can't get up early enough to do both bits!) When I first started my whole body actually hurt for about a week! Now I have aclimatised I am putting much more effort in to each of the moves and I know my muscles are stronger. The instructor is excellent - I'm sure she can see me when I forget to pull my tummy in or breathe - her comments are timed to perfection. If you are not sure whether to buy this - go for it - it's so cheap, if you don't like it you could probably get your money back by boot saleing it! I would have given 5 stars if it had lasted for slightly longer.
Absolutely Fantastic January 5, 2009 Ms. J. Lueders (London, United Kingdom) 10 out 10 - i highly recommend this DVD. I love it! Very easy to follow and the instructor guides you so well.

I've received the DVD today and i'm looking forward to doing the Pilates exercises after having watched the DVD on my PC. Does what it says on the tin November 17, 2008 Alex (Wiltshire) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I have never done pilates before and having read other reviews decided to purchase this dvd hoping for a good introduction to a pilates workout. And this is exactly what you'll get. If, like me, you're not a big fan of complicated dance routines done by a bunch of people in garish outfits whose 'ideal' bodies clearly have nothing to do with the exercise performed, you're gonna love this dvd. The exercises are shown in a slow and clear way by a friendly instructor - they are easy to follow even if you're doing it for the first time and effective from the first move. There are additional explanations or more/less advanced alternatives to a given exercise popping up when necessary but this is in no way distracting. The dvd is divided into several sections which makes it handy when you only have 15-20 minutes and want to do a short session at a time. You will not need anything else but a bit of space, bare feet and a mat (unless, like me, you don't mind the carpet). I have found this workout really enjoyable and hopefully so will you.
