Pocket External USB Drive August 28, 2008 Eastern (England) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great Product to use. Trouble with long usb cable to power device, THE ONE SUPPLIED IS SHORT AND WORKS GREAT. Format as fat32 to use on xbox360 or ps3 for movies or music. Format software for fat32 you download would not work on vista but works on xp. Device is preformated as fat32, i changed between mac htfs+ NTFS and FAT32 to test.
superb bit of kit August 18, 2008 Steven Brown 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I finally decided to replace my old portable hard drive with something a bit more modern, and this seemed to be a popular choice. I was delighted when it arrived. It's a very neat piece of technology, small and lightweight, and very smart looking. As a hard drive, it seems, fast, responsive and quiet. I've used it with Windows XP and OSX, and it connected quickly, and without problems. In summary, highly recommended.
Good looking and good working! August 17, 2008 Sarah Lee (London, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this hard drive a few months ago, and it does the job perfectly on my Windows XP laptop. It's good looking, slim, doesn't make too much noise or get too hot. It has a fast transfer speed, and with a free downloadable tool called Unlocker (do a search for it), I can make sure that the hdd can be safely ejected, so there is a lesser risk of getting corrupted. Now I want to store a 6GB backup file on it, but as the drive is by default formatted to FAT32 - which has a maximum file size of 4GB - and I've already put a lot of stuff on there, I've decided to purchase a new one to use as just a backup drive and to format it to NTFS. I'll use my first drive for more frequent use. My friend with a Mac has also been impressed, and we've used my drive on her machine also, so she also plans to get one. And the price has gone down 10 in the last three months!
FAT32 issues August 13, 2008 amit 2d (York, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The drive is nice and good looking and works wonderfully. The software provided is not good and you cannot use it as a backup s/w as well. As everybody already has said no point in keeping the software. The issue I had was, the drive is formatted as FAT32 which means it cannot store any file which has a size bigger than 4 GB. It means if you create an ISO file of your backup DVD you cannot store it in the drive unless you reformat it and create the filesystem as NTFS. The FAT32 is a good solution if there are users on windows 2000 and they need the drive, but if you are on XP or vista and have large files to store, reformat it first before use. The windows format utility can do this for you. No fancy software needed. Other than this, the drive is superb.
SUPERB!!! August 11, 2008 L. Shannan (Scotland, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Superb! Bought to use for back-up storage and for it's size/portability. Very simple and quick to use on an Apple Mac. Perfect size. Pity it doesn't sell with a case/cover included therefore rated a 4 as it does scratch pretty easy. No REAL complaints however :) Recommended.
