Very good for the money January 5, 2009 Simon Lewis 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this camera in the new year and generally very happy with it. Pros: 10 Megapixels, 12x optical zoom Price Nice big screen on the back Cons: Lens cap just pushes on No manual focus Slightly slower than some other cameras No thread on lens Popular misconceptions: Can't use Ni-MH batteries - WRONG No image stabilizer - WRONG Overall: Very good for the money (cheaper in Jessops 5.1.09) Looks the part Buy one.
amazing! January 4, 2009 M. kaszkun (london, uk) I bought this camera as a christmas present for my husband and couldn't be happier! It takes amazing pictures, it looks very stylish and it's very handy. This camera is something between normal digital cameras and proffessional one. I just noticed one weird thing about the delivery because product been left outside my door and no one even rang the bell or made me to sign anything. So just make sure u will be at home when delivery suppose to arrive!

My Fujifilm FinePix S1000fd Digital Camera December 19, 2008 J. MacDonald (Glasgow, Scotland, UK.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I received my camera & camera bag today 19/12/2008 [Still awaiting my SD card, I use my 2Gb card from my old camera] I only placed my ordered on the evening of the 16th, very happy with the quick delivery. Camera looks & feels great, not as big as it looks in the photo here it's just a good size, looks & feels pretty robust & sturdy. [Dimentions: 10cm/7cm/7cm &10.5cm with lens entended on tele photo/ zoomed in.] When I saw the photo of the fugifilm 'S1000fd' I thought it looked quite big and I had my doubts whether it would fit into the fuji camera bag. I ordered the two items on the same day, but the fuji camera bag was from another company. So today when I took the camera and the 'real' leather bag out of their boxes, and tried it for size the camera fits perfectly into the bag. The bag also has enough space to keep my spare batteries, memory cards & the 2 sets cables that came with the camera.
Quality product at a good price December 18, 2008 Mrs. A. L. Heaton (Lancashire, UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased the S1000fd because I was looking for a new digital camera, but also wanted to get back into photography. I have never had a digital SLR, but used to use a completely manual one when I was younger. Although the S1000fd isn't an SLR, it offers a lot more freedom than many compacts. The resolution is massive (10 megapixels) and is more than most people probably would need, but I chose the S1000fd for the 12x optical zoom, optional eye viewer (meaning you don't have to use the screen on the back to see what you are shooting) and face recognition technology. The zoom is fantastic - suprisingly clear. The camera feels good in your hand - it's reassuringly weighty without being too heavy. I have also purchased a set of rechargable batteries (the AAs it comes with didn't last me very long and aren't rechargable) and an 8 gb memory card, as the internal memory was full after only 10 photographs. This is the best camera I have owned - it refreshes fast enough to shoot my two year old without blurring or missing the photograph, and the red eye reduction is faultless (my family all have blue eyes are notorious for red eye). Definitely a worthwhile purchase!
