be prepared.... June 6, 2007 Mr. D. M. Thomas (Near Ballymoney Hi, Northern Ireland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this charger months ago, and was always wondering why They took ages and ages to charge, and the Led light remained on. Also two of the points became powdery, and on close inspection, there was battery leakage, so I had to throw out good batteries. I agree with the last reviewer, and thank you Paul for pointing that out. I use a Digital camera and this type of charger is definitely not to be considered, if you can not stand to wait...and wait...
Get an electronic charger March 26, 2007 Mr. Paul S. Ruane (UK) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
This charger may appear 'cheap and cheerful' at first but it is a false economy and you will live to regret it (or, more likely, blame the batteries). Years ago all chargers were manual like the one that comes in this package. The problem is the charger is 'dumb' and does not stop delivering current to the battery when it is full. This in turn damages the battery (some chemical reaction with which I am not familiar) and the batteries will last for less time. Repeat this a several times and you are destroying some fine high-capacity batteries -- leading to what used to be called the 'memory effect' where the batteries appear to have reduced capacity. You'll be far better off by buying a charger that automatically shuts off when the batteries are cooked. It will cost less in replacement batteries, cause less waste and use less electricity. You can pick these up for around a tenner. Remember, it's not cheap because it's slower than other chargers, it's cheap because the charger is cheap to produce.
Cracking little charger! January 4, 2007 M. Hall (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this charger as I was sick of buying batteries for my digital camera. They cost a bomb! For the price, it can't be beat. Mine came with 2500mAh batteries, and so what they take 23 hours to charge but they last for ages! If you are looking for a cheap and reliable charger but don't mind waiting for the batteries to be charged, then this is for you! If you want a quick charger, splash out and get one! Otherwise, this is excellent!
ok as long as u dont mind a week to recharge January 11, 2005 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Good value - but honest this takes ages to recharge. (24hrs). As long as u go some extras it would be ok.
Excellent for the price November 9, 2004 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
This product is excellent if you require high spec batteries at a budget cost, okay it takes 18 hours to charge them but you get what you pay for. If you need them quickly spend 20 on a quick charger, if you don't this is a bargain.
