Good All rounder August 24, 2008 neilholden7 Bought this camera with a little trepidation, as have always been a Nikon user, Was bought as a point and shoot to compliment my SLR outfit. The main reason I chose this one was it reviewed well and was said to be very good on battery consumption, well the better marked reiews werent wrong. Battery life is the best I have heard of. I am still only on my second set and believe me I do use this camera, have taken in the region of 400 images in the 3 months since I bought it. The preset scene settings are more than adequate if a little hard to get used to so I find myself shooting in either Auto or Manual modes most times. One minor issue is that the camera seems to overexpose by about 0.5 stop in manual mode, no problem though once you know about this, just set the exposure compensation to couteract this and images are correctly exposed. One addition I would recomend is a flipup viewfinder cover, This shields the screen from unwanted glare and also protects the LCD screen. Overall a very good camera.
excellent easy to use looks good July 7, 2008 Mrs. Deborah Elliott (Leicester,UK) I am no good with cameras, when my husband got a new one it was beyond me, and too big, so i set out to find a new one and this one seem to be what i was looking for and its not let me down, its so simple to use,it comes with software for the pc if you need it (i didn't) when the camera is all set up and you have photo's to upload just plug it in useing the lead which comes with the camera and away you go it that easy my 12yr old can do it. Best thing is it also looks good. Excellent camera.
Brilliant robust camera June 4, 2008 Mr. DD MORTON (Sheffield UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I use these at school in A460 and older A430 (4mp) versions, and have an older A410 (3mp) of my own which is now nearly 3 years old - these all give extremely well balanced shots, especially good at close-ups. Landscapes with cloud / mist seem to come out well. The results are noticeably better than other leading makes I've tried. So far the children haven't broken one...... which says a lot. I've also taken mine climbing and sailing with great results! Use with Sanyo Eneloop AA batteries - they last WEEKS!!! And get a 1 or 2gb card for happy holidays. My only criticism is, its a bulky and quite solid (340 grams) camera, but maybe thats where the build quality is? For the price, unbeatable.

Never owned a digital camera before,so took plenty of advice and came up with this one. It's a very easy camera to use, comes with cables to connect to your tv and computer,a basic paper guide,an advanced users guide on disk and even software to play about with your images. At the same time i bought a Kingston 2GB SDC, which has been brilliant, and the soft case, which maybe should have come with the camera. Once you understand how everything works, and set it up how you want it, the results are excellant.I'm very pleased with this camera at this price range and would thoroughly recommend it!.... nb. I bought the camera, the Canon DCC-400 soft case and the SDC on 17/3/08 for 71.66, including P&P !
