Product Description Light, compact and easy to use: the new Cyber-shot DSC-S730 is a great entry point to the world of digital photography! The DSC-S730 is good value for money and doesn't compromise on image quality. It lets you capture clear, blur-free photos thanks to its easy handling and user-friendly controls. You ll be able to set up shots, check results, share your photos and read menus on its 2.4 LCD screen, even in full sunlight. The DSC-S730 comes with a 7-megapixel Super HAD CCD sensor that takes amazingly bright and colourful photos, and has a 3x optical zoom and ISO 1250 sensitivity mode, so you can take pictures at faster shutter speeds to reduce the risk of camera shake, even with moving subjects. If you re after a camera with great all-round performances, the DSC-S730 is just what you need.

Sony Cybershot - Siock January 3, 2009 Mr. W. DAY 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Beautiful Camera, cant really say much about this item as it lives up to every expectation, apart from battery life. Remember you must buy the correct battery. But it is Definitely a competitor when buying a digital camera.
Digital camera battery problems January 3, 2009 Christopher Smith (Shropshire UK) I don't have a DSC730 but I do have the similar Sony digital DSC600 camera which takes great pictures under all conditions, is very quick to auto-focus and fire, and is ideal for 'point and shoot' photo. I also had problems with battery life (every time I picked the camera up the batteries were flat) until I started using Uniross HYBRIO rechargeable batteries, they come in 2100mAh AA size, which does not seem much, but where they score over normal NiMh batteries is that they come fully charged and have a very low self-discharge rate (they still have 80% of their charge after 12 months). Even when not in the camera, normal NiMh rechargeables lose their charge at a frightening rate and even 3 weeks after a full charge can be down to less than 50%, and fully discharged in a couple of months. With hybrio they normally last me about 3 to 4 months of average use (about 200 to 300 shots) - You can get Hybrio batteries from maplins and can use them straight away out of the box, then use your NORMAL NiMh charger to charge them. The big problem even with very High capacity 'normal' NiHh batteries (2500 and 2700mAh) is that they still suffer from a really high self-discharge and people get fed up of having flat batteries even though they charged them up a few weeks ago have hardly used the camera. Bear in mind that your 'fully charged spare set' is leaking current away quite rapidly even though they are not in the camera, so you may be very disapointed when you put the spare set in the camera and are only able to take a few pictures.

Sony CyberShot S730 Digital Camera - Silver (7.2MP, 3x Optical Zoom) 2.4" LCD Great picture quality both in the photo and video modes. Software disc loads Sony Cybershot program on your PC to upload the photo's and videos. This works great too!! The manual is stored on the CD so I veiw this a negative, you can't beat being able to sit down with the book in your armchair to learn the product, especially if you are older. The supplied batteries did not appear to last very long (only about 10 photo's) so I will be looking for rechargeable types.
