5 out of 5 stars ITS BETTER THAN SKY PLUS   November 13, 2008

it allows you to export and import on to the hard drive
The quailty of picture and sound and recordings are dvd quality.
when you record programmes you can edit out the adverts. cut the recording two parts. choose where you want the recording to end if you have recorded anything after the programme you dont want. You can rename recordings. It allows you to attach a usb to the Machine. It has a moving thumbnail with sound when you go to your recrdings list with information about the recording (progamme content) you can can create folders for the recording to go into and the hard drive can hold upto 250gb which is 160 hours.
Plus sagem udates the system over the ariel and it aslo has a series link on function.

ITS ONE HUNDRED TIMES BETTER THAN SKY PLUS
I LOVE THE PRODUCT 10 OUT OF 10.

ITS REVELUTIONISES THE WAY YOU WATCH TV.

2 out of 5 stars Avoid this product   September 3, 2008

This product had a good review when I originally bought it but I've had problems with it:
- has stopped downloading new channels
- sometimes get an error when trying to record something
- occasionally just cuts out and shuts down

Functionality wise:
- it's noisy and when it gets too hot it whirres loudly
- TV guide has to load up the picture of the channel everytime so very slow scrolling through the TV guide
- takes ages to turn itself on

On the positive, it allows you to set your favourite channels so you can hide the rubbish one's.

1 out of 5 stars Awful buggy product, AWFUL USELESS TECHNICAL SUPPORT FROM SAGEM   August 31, 2008

I bought this thinking that Sagem was a serious company. What a mistake.
The product constantly resets when accessing recorded list and even sometimes when changing channel!! Finally the box gave up altogether so I rang Sagem "Technical Support" who were worse than useless. They simply read from the troubleshooting section of the manual and said that was all they could do, then I was asked to email in to complain. Which I did. Suprise suprise I have yet to receive a reply. I would NEVER buy another Sagem product because of this!

1 out of 5 stars Don't buy it!   June 21, 2008

I purchased a DVR from sagem; it freezes halfway through watching a recording, goes blank when it feels like it, it's not worth it. The helpline staff just keeps telling you the next download update will sort the problem and they can't help. You can only e-mail a complaint and the reply is the same as the missnamed helpline. AVOID SAGEM.

1 out of 5 stars don't buy no matter how tempting   March 18, 2008

problems start after a week of haveing it.

there are problems with the EPG: 1st being that it has the wrong prograams on a channal, another is when you press the record button it comes up with this message "can't recored a past programm" like what the hell, 3rd with epg is no programms on 1 of the channals, more imporatntly a few weeks ago, it had no programms for channal 4 for 2days.

it missis recordings
sometimes when watching a pre-recorded programm it "forgets" to start recording and soon as you stop the recording it "remembers" and starts recording, like 20minuits into the programm.

the whole system freezes nearly everyday, or twice a day.
1 in 3 recorded programms will have a currupt memory and you cannot skip it. (unlike our last thompson - which was also crap)

on the upside it is easy to install, can get going in 2 minuits, and rather easy to understand. and quite good styling

stay away from segem
