Great piece of kit! August 29, 2008 L. Taylor (Leicester, UK) I bought these earphones yesterday to replace the ones for my iphone (all ipod related earphones are really bad quality and dont fit in my ears!) They arrived the next day, in some pretty funky packaging, and did the job perfect. The sound quality is great, and they really do block out background noise. Another added bonus, which i believe should be stated in the blurb, is that they do fit into the old style iphone sockets (the 3.5mm i think, the socket is recessed anyway so the phone jack needs to be a bit longer). If it had said that in the listing i would not have bought an adapter, so if you are wondering if they fit... They DO!
Changed music listening for me...however 7 months later..!!! August 22, 2008 Nubian T (London, UK) I first bought a pair, loved them, lost them but didn't hesitate to buy a replacement in February of this year... They are fantastic....clear ....a perfect fit and I literally cannot hear anything outside my music when I'm using them..HOWEVER....today 22/08/2008/..7 months after purchasing them, the right ear is touching...AHHHH...I am very disappointed...I really didnt expect this to happen...Im thoroughly upset....I don't know if that should effect the ratings because it was a highly impressive product, but now...hmmm...
a big disappointment August 20, 2008 Keith Povall (Walsall UK) I recently bought a generic i pod nano for a very good price, but the phones suplied were rubbish. Short term, I replaced them with the set that came with a five pound Asda CD player. I decided to treat myself to a pair of decent phones, because the player is such good quality. As someone who used to design high end car audio systems, I bought Sennheiser, because they are a top drawer brand name. The claim a low end response of 18 Hz, hmm, well it's the low and mid range that are sadly let down by these phones. I tried the different "lug hole" adapters provided and they made no appreciable difference, so guess what ? I've gone back to the Asda ones. I think if anyone like me is considering these phones because of the good Sennheiser name, then maybe consider going up a model, because I promise you, there's nothing special about the CX 300.
Beware of FAKE Headphones from AMAZON MARKETPLACE August 16, 2008 Ege Keskin (London, UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought a sennheiser cx-300 from one of amazon's marketplace sellers and item turned out to be a COUNTERFEIT. I used a pair of cx-300 for last two years and unfortunately the ones from cheap marketplace sellers cannot even be compared to the original ones. Save yourself a little bit pleasure and give 5-6 quid more and buy it directly from Amazon NOT FROM MARKETPLACE!
Nothing can go wrong for the price! August 11, 2008 T. Husain (London, UK) I bought one (actually two, having lost one on my trip to India) after reading the number of positive reviews in Amazon and elsewhere and have been quite happy with the purchase. The headphones do a good job of isolating external noise and most importantly on the tube, prevent noise leak so that fellow commuters don't get annoyed. The bass is okish, trebel and clarity could have been a bit better, but remember its a 15 headphone, you get what you paid for. The only real downside is, the original ear buds are pretty expensive compared to the actual price of the headphones, so be careful not to loose them :-)
