Ipod rules all mp3/mp4's January 8, 2009 M. frean (UK) Ipod got my ipod about 5 months ago and it has never failed me once, i keep all my music and vids on it. I will probabally never fill it up for it has so much space. I recomend the free "any video converter" for mp4 converting. And if it ever stalls hold middle and menu buttons. Unfortunetly there has not been an update for the new Genius software.
Very good but OS can be unstable January 6, 2009 Mr. David J. Watson (North-West England) - Looks great - Durable body - Stores lots of music, video, photots, or any other files as mass storage - Have to use iTunes for everything except mass storage (iTunes is a commerically orientated piece of software that is very controlling, especially on windows OS's). - Have had to restore ipod 4 or 5 times in the 6 months i have owned it. Crashes are worrying :s -Maximum volume output not very high so use of mini-jack as line-out to a stereo allows only low volumes. If you take a line from the dock connector, performance much better.
Few tiny problems, but deserves 5 stars! November 28, 2008 Master Woodrup (Brighton, UK) I'd always bought smaller, low capacity mp3 players and decided I needed something a little bigger. I went and bought this iPod, as I was told I wouldn't need the 160GB version. It is one of the best things I have bought. Currently it contains 5242 songs (200 of which are half hour radio shows), 15 videos (but has previosuly held around 100 with space for music) and 213 podcasts. I also have 31 audiobooks, and I still have 31.5Gb spare. It is really easy to find a certain album or track to listen to, and the screen is excellent for viewing videos. The only problems I have had so far are that iTunes can be a bit tempermental with ID3 tags, and once or twice the iPod has frozen on me, but that is easily reset. The iPod itself is large for an mp3/video player, but it needs to be, and it has never got in my way. It is however a very sleek, goodlooking machine. I would highly recommend buying this, or the newer 120GB, to anyone who wants a high-capacity mp3.
good idea but the Apple is bruised ! October 28, 2008 tu nombre es (Exmouth Devon U.K.) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
purchased one of these little gems and found the sound reproduction distorted .No matter what I tried and believe me I did it didn't solve the problem.Apple is NEXT TO USELESS when it comes to any support their solution to every problem is "reset it" after countless forums and going around in circles I presented the problem to Amazon who advised me to call Apple at NATIONAL RATE ..I was not happy to do this and to be fair to Amazon they refunded my money with no problem .I purchased a new 120 gig Ipod classic and that sounds a dream proving me right. To sum up Apple are a waste when it comes to any help have a look at how many help forums there are for people experiencing problems with their Apple products For such a big company they should be ashamed.
Unreliable October 10, 2008 M. Thomas (Exeter, UK) I have half filled my two week old ipod classic with 7500 songs, and it has just lost all the cover art. It started to show signs of freezing up - slow to respond in cover flow mode, then nothing. I can get it to play manually selected tracks still, but if it's getting temperamental when half full is there any point in trying to put the rest of my music library on it? I am NOT impressed. 3 stars only because 80gb for 150 is cheap compared to its comtetitors and, as you'd expect, it looks nice.. It does not, however, do everything that the glossy ads say it will do, and i'm not confident that it won't end up causing me loads of grief.
