this joystick does work with xp as i have xp and this joystick and a copy of ms flight 2004 and it works great forcefeed back as well all you need is a game port(usally on a soundcard) and go into control panel then to game controllers "add" and scroll to Sidewinder Force Feedback and select simple

Dont bother to buy this if your running Windows XP,because the Force feedback will not work,Microsoft are not making drivers for it to work with XP,its fine with Windows 95-98(or buy Force Feedback 2)
I would give it 5 stars if you have Windows 95-98

----: how is it possible that such an expensive piece of hardware is not usable as a traditional joystick: indeed, it is not possible to make the joystick go to the center when disabling/limitating the force feedback! That "center position strength" option is only supposed to work with games that do not support force feedback... :( +: I found the force feed-back impressive when testing them on the configuration panels, however the few games I tested with it were not using it adequately.

I strongly disagree with the previous reviewers comments. It may do as he says but the money is worth it as it also comes with Mechwarrior which is a great game. It also adds more enjoyment to other games as it gives the users more feeling about what is happening.

This joystick is probably the best I have used. It can take a lot of punishment and can give a hell of a kick. It comes with a software package that allows you to customise the buttons for any game and also increase or decrease the feedback. Top class.
