Amazon.co.uk Review The game version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a clear step above its (still well regarded) forebears. Based on both the book and film of the same name, the game sticks close to the look and feel of the movie wherever it can, while filling in details from the book to ensure a longer playing time. The main difference between this game and the last, apart from the vastly improved graphics, is that you now get to play as Ron and Hermione as well as Harry. What's more, throughout most of the game you can switch between any of the three whenever you like, as the other two follow you around and help out with magic spells should you get into a fight. Each character has their own special abilities with Harry being a good all-rounder, Hermione being better at spells and Ron having the ability to detect hidden objects. You must decide which skill is most needed at any one time, adding a cool strategic element to the game. A special bonus for the GameCube version of the game is the ability to link up to the Game Boy Advance version and trade wizard collector cards, as well as take care of your very own owl with a special owl care kit. Together with the new graphics, which are far less cartoony than before and look just like the proper actors from the film, this is definitely the best Harry Potter game yet and is good enough to appeal even to those that don't usually like the little wizard--if such people actually exist. --David Jenkins

Harry potter VITAL INFORMATION!!! November 3, 2007 donovan (uk) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
hiya.......im donovan and i rate this game 5 out of 5 because in harry potter games you controle harry well now you controle harry ron and hermioni each with there own special abilatys like harry can jump over gaps while others cant hermuioni canwlak on ice and fit under small gaps and ron can find hidden things. and they have spells flipendo and expeliarmus right but they also learn there own special spells harry can cast carpe retractum [Pulls things to you or pulls you over to them} expecto patronus {this spells fends off dementors and also you controle it so u can use it to look aorund corners} hermionis spells are glcius {icespell frezes things} snufflifors[turbns books into mice} and reparo {reapairs things} and driconafors{controles dragon statues} hermioni is luck because she gets most spell's poor ron only learn Lumos duo {light spell] well.. theres the spells and abilatys.....and if you buy this game i have two wordsfor you HAVE FUN!!
Best yet in harry potter series July 27, 2005 Jamal R. Alakroka (Q8) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Positive - Great Graphics the spells especially - V.Challenging(In Some Cases U Need To use ur brain) - TeamWork By working together(harry, hermione, ron)u can solve the challenge...every character has a strategy(e.g ron is gud in finding secret places)Negative - Personaly i thought the game was pretty short. - Sometimes u lose hope in finishing the game cuz sometimes the chanllenges are not pretty fair(eg.The challenge of saving serius black and harry from the dementors when harry goes baq in time with hermione is a gud example)u need more than one try to figure out wat exactilly u should do - There is NO QUIDDITCH!!!!!! (just a game clip of it) but overall the game is worth playing if ur a harry potter fan! Cheers:)
Harry's Comeback to Gamecube May 12, 2004 18 out of 50 found this review helpful
To my utter delight, while I was surfing the net, I came across an advert saying "Harry Potter, Out Soon!" My heart missed a beat. Harry Potter is coming back! No Way! I was smiling all day. I have heard rumours about the new game, and it sounded awesome. As an avid Harry potter reader, I went to hell and back to get my hand on a demo. On the new version of the Harry Potter Series, you can play with either Ron, Hermione- and of course- Harry Potter! The game has good graphics and it follows the storyline of the book very closely. I can not wait to get the proper version, and do a full Patronus spell to get rid of all those evil Dementors. This game means only one thing, The fim is looking set to come out soon to, and then the Harry Potter phononemon will start all over again!
