Amazing December 16, 2005 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
so far i have been playing for about 20hours and im at the start of chapter 7. This game is utterly amazing you rearly get involved in the storyline from seeing hideyoshi hashima (monkey) growing up from being on a bridge selling weapons to a high official in your army. And dont think this gamne will be easy it is quite hard once you have completed a few chapters.
better than first 2 July 27, 2005 Major Benjamin Wai (Addlestone, Surrey United Kingdom) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Well kessen 3 is much much better than kessen 2 for many reasons. the units u use maybe smaller in numbers but are much better and easier to use, and u feel very directly incharge of the units during the battles fought. u also have to plan each battle urself and what to do, not to say u can also buy troops(units) and give them to officers which makes endless tweaking to perfect ur army. all in all it is an amazing game with a gd structure and gameplay

Kessen has had it's ups and downs. The first Kessen was my first ever PS2 game and was one of my favourites. Kessen II dipped substantially in quality. Kessen III however is a great return to form. Games like Kessen, Dynasty Warriors, Total War etc are always defined by either action or strategy. While most claim to offer both, that's rarely the case. Kessen for the first time is starting to truly display both. With the ability to customise your officers equipment, troop type and orders combined with the chance to wade in and slice enemies like so much grass, there is enough for everyone. Hardcore fans of the original might mourn the slight loss of strategic choices, and fans of the more brutal Dynasty Warriors might yearn for more carnage, those in the middle should be satisfied. Despite the five star rating this game is not perfect. The combination of action and thinking is not as yet seamless and there is room for improvement in some areas, however there is alot of potential here. The story is actually decent, a change from Kessen II which featured hollow characters wearing implausably garish outfits and inane plot twists which would make Eastender's plot writers blush. That being happily fixed, Kessen III is a much better game for it, with much potential for the hopefully numerous future installments.
New Breath For Kessen Games June 21, 2005 Michael Cawdrey (England) 26 out of 26 found this review helpful
This is the brand new Kessen game, based on Nobunaga and other warlords of Japan. If you have played Samurai Warriors, you will be familier with some of the chracters. There are some huge differences from Kessen 2. You can control the unit fully, attacking by yourself with the [] button. Tactics are still there to be used in the heat of battle. You deploy the units around the map as you like. Battles are quicker than the ones in Kessen 2, which is good because some old battles could drag on and be boring. You customize your warriors, with weapons and armour to choose from, this gives the game more freedom. You can upload Samurai Warriors data to give you a few bonuses. The game has a very good storyline to follow, and does not get boring. I would advise people who love Kessen games, and Samurai/Dynasty warriors fans to play this game. It is worthy of the 5 Star rating. Graphics - 8/10 Sounds - 8/10 Gameplay - 9/10 Longativity - 8/10 Overall - 9/10
