You can play solo or challenge up to seven friends by sharing one game card. And if you don't have anyone to play with, simply log on to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and find opponents across Europe or in the US. You can even chat to each other, PictoChat-style, while you play!
Amazon.co.uk Review: In a nutshell: Possibly the least obscure game title ever, this does exactly what it says on the tin with forty-two classics from chess and backgammon, to darts, poker, bridge and solitaire. The lowdown: The surprising thing about this game is that nobody's thought to do it before. The games are split into three varieties of card game and two of board games, plus a selection of "action" games including bowling, darts and billiards. Playing the card games is just as easy as you'd expect with two screens and a stylus, whether it's Old Maid and Pig or Texas Hold `Em and Bridge. The board games work just as well, with Chinese Checkers, Checkers (i.e. Draughts), Dots and Boxes and more. You'll also find games like Turncoat (i.e. Othello), "Connect Five", Ludo, Mahjong and Solitaire. You have got to go to some effort not to find something of interest amongst this selection. Most exciting moment: The best thing about having so many games is that, except for the ones that are purposefully single player, they can all be played online. If you're playing against a friend you can even chat using a PictoChat style interface. Since you ask: The Japanese and Western versions of the game have several different exclusive games. Japan never got Texas Hold 'Em, Dots and Boxes, Grid Attack, Ludo, Dominoes, Escape or Mahjong Solitaire but instead have Napoleon, Goninkan, Bozumekuri, Sugoroku, Size Game, Last One and Mini Golf in their version. The bottom line: The one video games compendium that really is for everyone. - HARRISON DENT

Classics - It does what it says on the tin!! September 1, 2008 Ms. P. Bell (Ashford Kent UK) It is brilliant. I'm not one for platform or role play games, so this is the game just for me. I have played games I didn't think I would understand at all, others baffle me totally (but I will persevere), but I've had great fun playing darts, rummy, dominoes and so many others. If you want something that will appeal to all ages and skill levels, then get this one. Worth every penny, it provides hours of fun. My dad even has a copy!! My only issue is the absolutely tiny Mahjong Soliatire board, so get the magnifier out!!
Nintendo DS lite 42 all-time classics August 19, 2008 V. Shaw (yorkshire uk) This is the first game I got with my DS, best thing I could have bought, loads of games, new ones and old favorites. It really gets your brain going, there is some thing for everyone.Very good value for money, (these DS games can be quite pricey)I cant put the thing down, even my husband is fighting over it. I highly recommend this game , especially to the more mature buyer.
Full of Fun! July 31, 2008 Suzie W (West Midlands) This game gives a very open choice of games you can play. For example, there is: solitaire, escape, blackjack, checkers, chinese checkers, spit and pig to name just a few. You shouldn't be put off if you don't know how to play one of the games, as they all come with very simple, but detailed instructions which you can access via each game. You can also compete against other people, which is also a really fun option. Challenge your family and friends and see if they can beat you on the whole variety of classics this game offers. Definitely a winner - unlimited fun every time.
I can't put it down! July 15, 2008 Snail the Bookworm This is a great game with something for everyone. There are familiar card games such as old maid and rummy and "action" games like bowling and darts. There are games suitable for all ages because they range from the simple (memory) to the more advanced (chess). When you start up the game, there are 3 single player modes - free play, stamp mode or mission. - Free play allows you to choose a game and set the ability level and number of players. - Stamp mode is a great way to try out all of the games because you have to work your way through all of them in order (and gets around your natural tendency to only play the familiar games) - Mission mode gives you the chance to hone your skills by reaching targets such as stacking 20 blocks on their short sides in balance. By playing stamp mode and mission mode, you can unlock new games and user pictures and the more you win games in free mode, the more designs you unlock. Multiplayer mode is also fun, my Mum has the game too and we enjoy playing against each other at everything from backgammon to word balloon. It also keeps a record of how many games each of you win and lets you chat while playing. In conclusion, this game's a great way for you to play your favourite card and board games without the equipment, while you're on the move or alone if there's no one around. You might even find some new favourites!
