Delighted with the progress my child made with this! November 16, 2008 H. Grant (Germany) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this DS French course out of desperation - my daughter started French at a new school and all the other kids had already done 2-3 years of it so she was behind everyone else. I bought this because she loves using her DS and I knew she would be more likely to use this software than to sit with me for the same length of time learning vocabulary. Within a week she had learnt the numbers 1-13, colours, days of the week, months, etc. and she has now nearly caught up the other kids in her class. As an adult I would prefer to go to a language class if I were learning a new language, but for a DS-mad kid this is a really good way of learning.
More fun than educational October 6, 2008 Ms. H. B. H. Hosegood (Devon, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Don't buy this game to learn French, because you won't - get Michel Thomas Foundation Course: French (Michel Thomas Series) or one of Michel Thomas' other fantastic courses to do that. However, if you are bored with your other French courses or want some revision, this game will help and it's a lot of fun. There's a game in which you have to fill in the missing letter from each of a series of French words; one to guess the meaning of a word, given a choice of two; another where you are given a definition and have to spell the word using spaghetti letters that sink if you are too slow; and another where you have to spell given words using letters that fall from the top of the screen and use the letters up before the pile of letters gets too high. You get the idea. Even my son likes the games, and will even sit and watch me play.

My French Coach is a good learning tool, but it could do with a few more sentences instead of focusing on various French words. Check out bbc.co.uk/languages/french for a better way of learning French.
Tres bien July 30, 2008 Mrs. Susan Land (Ribble Valley, Lancashire, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My French Coach Level 1: Learn To Speak French (Nintendo DS) An excellent learning tool, which becomes addictive! I love the pronunciation help, sadly this is missing in Level 2. I agree with another reviewer, who commented on the lack of gender. Otherwise, I would have given 5 stars for both categories. It is still a worthwhile purchase for anyone wanting to learn or brush up on the French language.
It works. It's fun. It's brilliant! June 16, 2008 Helena Davis-Fawcett (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
How much do I love this - way too much. How much have I actually learnt - an incredible lot. I cannot recommend this enough.
