3 out of 5 stars Weird wireless   November 18, 2008

Installing is easy. Install the driver from the CD. Plug the WGR in. Press the button on the WGR until it blinks now press the small dot-button at the back of the controller until the X-button rotates a light. They link.

Now you can check the battery level by toggling the X button on the controller. There is no off button - you just leave it and it turns itself off. To turn it on press the X-button again. Use Eneloop or similar batteries in the controller - much better than ordinary rechargeables.

I have an Xbox360 Elite with a wireless controller. I have a wired Xbox360 controller for my PC. The WGR gets rid of the annoying wire...

Problem is I can't easily use one wireless controller for both Xbox360 and PC. I need to keep unplugging WGR and mains power and reassigning the controller for each which is a worse pain. So the PC and Xbox360 need one dedicated controller each... Another 30!!

Cheaper to put up with the wire! I'm no better off comfortwise and 12 down for the WGR and contemplating another 30. Bxxxxx!

Microsoft should make the assigning process simpler but, of course, they sell more by not doing so.

4 out of 5 stars No fuss   October 18, 2008

Assuming you've already installed the drivers from the disk, this thing will work immediately after plugging it in. Since it's a receiver you can put it well out of sight if you wish, hell, you could leave on the floor in the corner and it would still work fine!

It's fast and reliable and works with any wireless 360 controller, great product!

I was pleased with this but the only thing i wasnt pleased about is that it doesnt work on vista but i downloaded software for that

This reciever lets you use your Xbox 360 controller, Racing wheel and headset with you Windows computer, this it does very well, and for only 10- 15.

I usualy only play games on my Xbox, but recently got a new computer and wanted to get games such as Portal for it, however, i do not like using the mouse/keyboard set-up so i bought one of these. The Xbox 360 controller is quite possibly the most comfortable i have ever used and i am pleased that i can now use it with my computer.

Please note, if you put the disc in a Windows Vista machine, it will say you do not have the required specifications and will direct you to a page on microsoft's website where you can download and install the Windows Vista version of the driver.

Won one for 11p off a certain auction website, and have found this receiver to be excellent. This great little device works perfectly. You can download vista/ xp drivers off Microsoft's website, or use the CD included. It also looks pretty snazzy. To connect a controller for the first time, you simply hold down the receiver button, then the syncronise botton on the controller, just like with the 360 console. Controller works just like it is connected to an Xbox, complete with vibration feedback. The first time I used it, some buttons acted funny, but that was a one off because it has worked perfectly ever since. The receiver is designed around "Games for Windows", but Windows treats it like a standard controller, so I assume it can work with other games too (but I haven't tested this theory yet).
