This game is ok. The missions are not bad and the graphics are alright. Got bored after a while and have only played half the game and im not rushing to play the other half. If you can afford this game then its worth a buy but if your strapped for cash just dont bother.

Blazing angels: squadrons of WWII is a darn right useless SINGLE player game! The MULTIPLAYER is the only good thing about it! The flaws of the single player game are: very few missions around 15 (each at 15 minutes long), you have almost the same objective in each mission, Graphics are horrible (except plane and water graphics) when i was playing it my friend came in and said "what ps2 game is this?", you cannot leave a mark on the environment unless you put on an extra damage cheat ( but you can only destroy building withs rockets!)
THIS IS NOT A SIMULATOR, you wanna know why? I DONE A LOOP DE LOOP IN A B-17 FLYING FORTRESS! PLaying with a friend online or offline is fun only i wish it had 4 player but it only has 2 player when offline. When playing multiplayer it is most fun to try and land in one of the landing strips and battle it out while driving your plane on the ground!

My verdict : Worst single playered ps3 game ever, but makes up for some of it in multiplayer mode!

2 out of 5 stars Performance not up to scratch   April 24, 2007

To be quite honest the gameplay is great in this but I found the scrolling of the graphics ruined it for me. I have a Sony Bravia TV capable of 1080i but on 720p the graphics were no better than a PS1, with horrid lines interfering with the game. Particularly when climbing, diving or changing direction quickly, it was rubbish. I came to the conclusion it was the game as my other PS3 games are fine, even when making fast movements. Shame really as I was looking forward to playing it, I ended up swapping for the altogether better Tiger Woods 07.

2 out of 5 stars Not well done --   April 24, 2007

This game could have been outstanding, but it is poorly executed. It forces the player to wait through unnecessary narrator talk before actually beginning missions without allowing the player to skip the chatter. Some missions lag, i.e., the frames skip and chatter, occasionally locking up controls. I have other games for PS3 and they do not do this. Also, the instructions have little detail and force the player to spend far more time trying to figure out the missions than it should.
Also, there are too few missions. One would expect that after finishing the campaign, there would be more single-player action. There is almost none. Two missions after the campaign is all you get. Very disappointing.
I have many PS2 and PC flight simulators and flight combat games. This is among the worst. It appears that the developers sent it out prematurely and didn't get the code right. Save your money and wait for a flight game that really works.

The graphics are nice, bu

4 out of 5 stars Ideal game for first time Flyers   April 19, 2007

This is a really fun game to have.
It's the first and only flight game I have though I have played a WW1 'red baron' type game which is very similar in a scaled down way.
I bought this having finished Marvel Ultimate Alliance and was at a loose end, not being full taken in by Resistance. (I'm waiting for Killzone 2)
The detail has already been mentioned. As have many of the other positive features of the game
Plus it's important to note that the Controls are easier to master than you'd imagine if you are not used to flight games.
The one downside for me is the lack of banter between the other non playable characters (NPC). You'd imagine the developers would fill out the capacity of the disc with some entertaining dialogue but no. So although you do get some chat it's doesn't contribute to the atmosphere and 'reality' of the game.
But for the sheer fun of doing your bit for the country in such stunning surroundings and the engaging challenges of battle - you don;t need to be a flight game fan to feel you've got your money's worth.
