Amazon.co.uk Preview With the latest movie almost making up for the quality of the first two films it looks like Star Wars has won back the hearts and minds of fans everywhere and Battlefront II aims to be the perfect celebration of that. Like the original it's a sort of Star Wars version of PC hit Battlefield 1942, where two armies face off against each other, either off or online, jumping in and out of various vehicles as they find them. Of course in Battlefield 1942 "various vehicles" meant jeeps and tanks, in Battlefront II it means X-wings, TIE Fighters, AT-ATs and, for the first time, Episode III vehicles like the BARC speeder, Jedi Starfighter II and V-wing. The biggest change to the game, apart from the new vehicles, is space battles with several of the levels taking part aboard giant space cruisers which you can exit in starfighters, have a dogfight in deep space around and then pilot back to for a bit more on foot combat. Levels include the Blockade Runner from the beginning of A New Hope, the space battle above Coruscant and Utapau and Mustafa from Episode III. Another long awaited addition is playable Jedi, although you can only be one for a short time so as to not unbalance the gameplay. Although the emphasis is on online play the single player mode has been beefed up with better artificial intelligence and a proper story linking all the missions. "Star Wars fans, like this, they will", as Yoda would say (if he was real and wrote game previews instead of being a Jedi Master). -- Harrison Dent This preview is based on an incomplete version of the game; features or problems mentioned above may not appear in the finished game.

star wars battlefront2 December 19, 2007 oblah-de-oblah-dan (UK) the game is very much improved from S.W.Battlefront1, although the producers have taken out the land mission 'flying' Vehicules which makes the game not as fun if you wish to expore the map or find a good firing point. This game is an amazing buy and will provide entertainment for an shocking amount of time befour you lose interest.
Battlefront II September 10, 2007 Ethan This is a star wars game where you get to play in a variety of enviroments including space. You can also play as jedis and siths.
Fun, addictive, replayable! August 29, 2007 R. Hersom (Herts, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This game is really a brilliant bringing together of everything that all Star Wars fans from casual to fervent know and love. It is also, however, an excellent game in its own right! Starting off with the campaign, you get to build up gradually from learning how to play right up to really hard missions, while also enjoying two different armies (Old Republic and Empire). Then, when you tire of that you can move onto Galactic Conquest, taking over the galaxy as any of the four armies, combining space combat with ground fighting. When you get bored of that (which takes a long time!) there's Instant Action, and then there's the huge world of multiplayer! Battlefront II is an absolutely stupendous game, and well worthy of the money!

Star Wars Battlefront II July 2, 2007 C. Brand (Inverness, Scotland) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I thought this game was a great a great addition to all of the star wars games, it alowed you to just be some ordinary guy not some amazing super hero and leavewithou a scratch on him although I liked the edition of how you can become the hero unlike in the first one were the hero would just wander around and wouldbe able to defend 20 blasters all firing him at once. One disapointment I found in this game is when they take the gunships the aircrafts out of almost all of the ground levels but either than that I thought this game was excelent.
