Really good. August 16, 2008 Nicolette Laurence (Guernsey, Channel Islands) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really like this. I don't find it particularly bulky, in fact it is less bulky than some deep fryers and definitely easier to keep clean. Looks much nicer on your counter top! I used frozen chips in it for it's first use, they turned out really well. There was some breakage of the chips as the paddle turned round, but this gave crispy edges to the finished product so no real complaint there. My only negative comment here is that it does not seem very resilient, ie the plastic lid and some ohter bits seem a little cheap and brittle. My ham-fisted husband will need careful instruction on how to treat it :) Other than that, I am very pleased with it and I am looking forward to trying other foods in there. I particularly like how you turn it on and it doesn't need constant attention like fryers do, although as the previous reviewer stated, the alarm is pretty quiet. I use a separate alarm so I can hear it in another room. All in all, a great buy and I will definitely be using it a lot, so I hope the plastic holds up!
Gr8 Buy August 16, 2008 Mrs. Anne C. Nichols (Ayrshire, Scotland) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a considered purchase due to the price (this is by far the cheapest i've seen) but it's fantastic. I have turned into a chef since it arrived. No problems to work, clean or store it. the food tastes gr8 and i have tried loads of new stuff (recipe book) and loved it all. If you can afford it buy it.
This is brilliant for a variety of food August 11, 2008 Templer 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have bought the actifry about 4 weeks ago and have cooked different things with it. To keep it short and snappy : buy it ! From freshly sliced potatoes over chicken legs to bolognaise for spaghetti , meat balls or a curry... I have used it a lot and the results where stunning. What my wife loves about it is that whenever you deepfry anything with a normal deepfryer, the whole house stinks to heaven for 3 days, with the actifry there is a subtle smell of the food that you actualy cook. I am amazed that there are still people moaning about their results with the actifry (must be people that cant cook at all or with two left hands). Nowadays we all have to think about the stuff we eat, and with the actifry we dont need much oil, depending on what you want to cook, no oil at all. I dont regret buying it and can highly recommend it.

it's healthier than my old kenwood deep fryer ... but do the chips come out any better ... thats debatable ... the best potato to use is the Kerr's Pink ..... makes Maris Pipers and king edwards potatoes poor in comparison .... 1 downside 30 - 40 minutes to make chips
Tefal Antifry very very poor July 11, 2008 toffee (Uk) 6 out of 15 found this review helpful
Having recieved my Tefal Actifry I am more than disapointed! Tried chips, following the instructions and they were really nasty. I looked to see and I had the wrong type of potatoes. Tried again today with the recommeneded potatoes and they were just as bad. Two hundred and fifty grams took twenty five minutes to cook, think about the cost of your electricty!. I am now going to try to sell this machine. Do not buy the Tefal Actifry! It sounds good and healthy! However better not to have chips at all!!!
