Died after 20 mins!!!! November 13, 2008 Flora (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What can I say thats good about a product that died after just 20 minutes. Well it did clean my kitchen floor beautifully but this is what I hate about buying by mail order. Now I suppose I will have to try and package it all up again and get it down to post office to send it back to supplier - that's if they are interested. I am seriously fed up. I took a chance after reading good reviews on another page and not so many bad ones there. Now I find this page of reviews and see other people have same bad experience. I would be furious after 3 months so you can imagine how I feel after only receiving product this afternoon.
Two home-tek steam mops - both "died" after a few months. November 5, 2008 S. Francis (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well, I adored this product - I have five children and I breed dogs (but love a tidy, clean home!) I was totally impressed with the way this mop cleaned my floors (we have wood laminate floors throughout our home, plus a stone tiled kitchen and conservatory floor.)I bought extra mop pads - an absolute must and I must confess that I actually enjoyed floor cleaning - what a great invention I thought! The only downside was as we have a large house, I felt the cable was too short. Sadly, my mop died after three months - I was gutted and put it down to bad luck. I immediately bought another one (ebay seller not interested) and lo and behold, three months later that one died too !!! I still miss having a steam mop (it beats cleaning floors on my hands and knees - the only way I feel cleans the floors as well as a steam mop). I came on here just to see if others had experienced the same problem - hoping they hadn't as I would have been prepared to buy a third one. Sadly, I see others have witnessed their home-tek steam mops die prematurely and unexpectedly. I think it is an utter disgrace that the manufacturer has not recognised that there is a design fault and addressed it accordingly. Perhaps someone should contact watchdog !!
Home Tek Steam Mop Problem September 28, 2008 J. Wilde 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We have had this steam mop about 3 mnths and at first it worked ok although it didn't get all the dirt out of the pattern of our Kardine floor. We have used it 8 times since we got it but the last time no steam came out! Reading the other reviews it seems to be a common and terminal problem with no solotions offered. Accordingly I can NOT recommend this steam mop.
mine died too September 15, 2008 Mr. Iain Duff (uk) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
started well worked for a couple of months and then died, supplier not interested it's now been binned.
Time saving and streak free! September 15, 2008 G. Dixon (Newcastle Upon Tyne) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this off a shopping channel just over a year ago. I love it. It cleans laminate flooring without leaving streaks and in my textured vinyl kitchen floor, it works a treat and gets rid of greasy spills with no bother. It does leave some water on the floor, but that dries up within about 5 minutes. Like a few other reviews I will say that the power cord is too short, but that's no problem with an extension. Mine too broke after 8 months. Rang Hometek who suggested trying to "tap" out a blocked air bubble and turn it upside down and shake it. That didn't work, so packed it off to where it was purchased after speaking with them, they paid for the return too. They replaced it with a brand new one, which is working fine. Have to add that when it was away, I realised how much I used it and missed not having it. Buy one. And remember you have a warranty if things go wrong.
