4 out of 5 stars A very Interesting, and realistic Novel!   July 14, 1999
This book was wonderfull, but I think that the author should have made it longer. It was very interesting, and realistic, and if it was longer, it would be even better! It is about a young woman with cancer that runs away from chemo, and other treatments, to find another cure. The plot will not allow you to put down the book!

5 out of 5 stars Friendship comes through   November 26, 1997
Shannon Thomas has had it with chemotherapy. Hearing about a woman who might be able to heal her cancer, she runs away to seek the woman out. Along the way she meets many people who's caring touches her, like the street girl who befriends her. Zil eats out of garbage cans, but when she finds $12 on the ground she is willing to give all to Shannon to help pay for the treatment of the woman who might heal her. Eventually Shannon finds the healer is free. "You can't charge for a gift." says the healer. But Shannon cannot be healed by this woman, so it has all been in vain...or has it? Meeting the wide variety of characters Deborah Kent depicts Shannon has come to realize her destiny: more chemo. Deborah Kent has done a wondrful job of describing each and every character in their own place, with a strong plot and the fact that not all stories have happy endings, but that friends can make everything endurable.
