This double CD set is every bit as good as I had hoped it would be when I bought it many months ago. I use CD 1 for quiet listening sometimes but not for meditating as I prefer silence for that. It can also be used for beautiful background music to massage.The second CD I use regularly and always with headphones as they make such a difference.
(Similarly I always use headphones when I listen to Deepak Chopra's Soul of Healing Meditations CD. I wrote the first review of that and forgot to say that headphones, for me, are essential to get the full effect and benefit of listening.)
At the beginning of Chakra Balancing CD 2 Deepak says "Rest comfortably with your eyes closed" rather than his usual instruction to "Sit comfortably etc" so I sometimes get under the duvet whilst listening. However, it is probably better to sit with eyes closed if you can.
For each chakra Deepak gives:
- the colour;
- location;
- Sanskrit word;
- pricipal (security, appetite, willpower etc);
- system (lymph, respiration, immune etc);
- sense (taste, vision, hearing etc).
- gemstone (garnet, carnelian, emerald etc) - in booklet only.
All of the above is set to lovely music and, of course, each chakra has its own mantra or word to inwardly repeat to yourself at the appropriate time when guided by Deepak.
In my opinion,it is worth listening to this just to hear Deepak chanting OM with his lovely, rich, deep voice.
The only time you say the mantras out loud is at the very end when you are guided by Deepak and you imagine the symbol of infinity running through your body which he describes.
Absolutely worth every penny if you are interested in chakras, mantras and healing yourself.
Deepak says in his booklet that when energy is obstructed in our chakras (usually as a result of incompletely processed experiences from our past) we feel constricted and disconnected from our essential nature.
By bringing your attention to each chakra and introducing the specific mantra awakens the vibratory quality of the junction point. This allows the physical and emotional power inherent in the chakra to be available for your healing and transformation.
