Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Very demanding but thought provoking   March 12, 2003

This is not an easy book and it certainly isn't a typical self help book, though if you stick with it you may well feel uplifted and more self aware. Though the author used to be a Roman Catholic monk, it doesn't ram any religion down your throat. It starts with the concept of emptiness as being central to many religions and develops that theme. To appreciate it fully, the reader needs a good knowledge of religion, history and the arts in order to understand the many cultural references.
