A must for every holistic library for animals November 23, 2007 Mrs. N. C. Baylis (Devon) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A brilliant book and enabled me to make big changes in my pet's diet. Our dog has cancer in the leg and giving him a much better diet together with supplements makes me feel much more positive. There is so much content that I can't wait to read it again. Have lent it to all my friends who own dogs to spread the word. Excellent book coming from a vet to hopefully make other vets combine conventional and alternative ways of treating animals
A must have book for pet owners November 10, 2006 Kaitlin (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is one of the best written books on animal health I've ever come across, and I've read a lot. He manages to walk the fine line between science and spirit with ease and is truly inspiring about both how you can help keep your beloved companions healthy and the most useful treatments for them if they aren't. All vets should have a copy!
I wouldn't be without this book December 30, 2003 bubble perkins 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
This book totally changed my view about vaccinations which - like lots of dog owners - I just took for granted. My new puppy has had the initial combined shot which, by law here in France, she was required to have. But following advice obtained from this wonderful book she will have no further vaccinations at all. Her natural immunisation will be enough. This book also gave me much information about pet food, again something I'd always taken for granted. This book makes you start to question everything you once considered to be standard practice. I have recommended it again and again and no-one buying it has been disappointed.
What an enlightened view of animal health and welfare. July 7, 2000 gerry.whelan@breathemail.net (Harrow, Middlesex) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
This book was recommended to me by a dog breeder. The information contained makes so much sense that I am amazed there are not more vets who practice holistic methods. Here in England most of the vets still advocate that animals are vaccinated every year and pump them full of antibiotics at the drop of a hat. All pet owners should read this book and then lend it to their vet!
Don't buy if you already have the other by the same author June 9, 2000 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Was greatly disappointed as I received this book since it's just a paperback version of Dr. Goldsteins previous book: "The Nature of Animal Healing: The Path to Your Pet's Health, Happiness and Longevity". I had expected an entirely new book since the titles are (at least slightly) different. But the titles, the front pictures, the paper qualities are the only things that differ. In every other respect these two books are identical. So, unless you want a paperback version of a book you already have, don't buy it. (On the other hand, it's truly a great book and since I now have two copies of it, I'll just give the superfluous one to my local vet.)
