5 out of 5 stars Great long lasting lamp   September 3, 2008

This lamp was great.. Everything i'd hoped for in a light for my camping trip.
I charged it up using the mains adapter before we went.
We used it during putting the tent up, at night to read and arrange the bedding and also when we went for a walk down to the beach.
It was very bright. It has a flourescent tube light inside which gives off plenty of light. we only had a 3 person tent, but hung from the top, it lit up everything perfectly.
I didn't use the remote control but i tested it and it worked fine. Didn't test the range of this.
The battery is supposed to last 6-7 hours.. I never managed to drain it empty. I had it on for 2-3 hours per night and each day i plugged in the included car charger and charged it while we were out driving.
This is a great lantern for camping/fishing/walking in the dark.
If you want a light which you can point at something maybe a torch would be better but if you want a light which gives off plenty light all around then this is for you!
