Smooth operator November 21, 2008 T. P. Wikeley Great item. Soft skin after a smooth shave, cool balm. Love it!Super value.Wish I had it years ago as I hate wet shaving!
no where near razor quality November 18, 2008 Skig (UK) The first time i used this item, i had to have a razor shave immediately afterwards! - Admittedly i did have about 3 days growth. Since then i us it every day, but it isn't even close to a mach3 (disagreeing with previous reviews). If this is the pinnacle of rotary shavers, then it looks like i am sticking with blades. I can only assume the larger shavers have better cutting power? may try a remmington before i give up completely
An excellent shaving experience November 11, 2008 G. Collins (UK) I've been shaving electic for over 20 years and have mainly used expensive Braun models. I tried a Philips rotary shaving system about 5+ years ago but it wasn't particularly good. My current Braun started playing up and I had two options, change the foil or buy a new shaver. Having read the excellent reviews of the Philips HS8060 I thought I'd give it a try and see what all the fuss was about. Well I'm glad I did. This is without doubt the closest home shave I have ever experienced and is certainly comparable to a traditional barbers wet shave. Its also reduced my shaving time down considerably as well and the Nivea Moisturiser certainly leaves my skin feeling much softer, although I agree that it isn't the nicest smelling moisturiser on the market. I normally spend 150+ on my electric razors. The price on Amazon for the HS8060 is excellent and the item was delivered quickly. All in all I'm extremely happy with this purchase.
As close as a blade November 9, 2008 A. Morris Up till now I've seen several adverts on tv claiming that their electric shaver shaves you as close as a blade & it doesn't. Well the Philips nivea HS8060 does. I was dubious about buying another electric shaver as all the rest I've had just didn't do the job. My last one packed up a few weeks ago & after reading the reviews on the Philips HS8060 I decided to give it a try & for once, I was surprised at how close a shave an electric shaver could give. As usual Amazon delivered mine well before the estimated date. Top marks to this one.
Philips Nivea HS8060 November 8, 2008 Mr. Graham Williams (England) As someone whostarted shaving with a 19+50's vintage Philishave I have been searching for an electric razor that could shave as close as that one did. At last I have found it with the Philips HS8060, after trying one foil shaver and 5 or 6 other rotaty shavers. My only criticism is the awful perfume of the Nivea which brings to mind the old soldiers sayings about pox doctors clerks and brothels in certain near eastern countries which it would not be politically correct to name. However, I discovered that on old and trusted badger hair shaving brush produced a lather with toilet soap that performed just as well as the Nivea without the revolting perfume.
