Good set of weights. Worth considering. October 21, 2008 J. Jones (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought these about a year ago, having never really done any free weights, and these are really good. Granted the weight limit can be limiting, and a 20kg set may be more suitable for some, especially considering the price. However the rubber grips are really good on your hands, especially when doing high repitition stuff, no calusses to date, and frankly I find 15kg is enough. Also whilst the 20kg set is cheap, these are not bad value either. Worth considering.
I thought they were rather good! September 26, 2008 Victor Atkins (England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I brought these before they had been rated, or at any rate, I didn't see the review warning against them. When I purchased them, I used them at least everyday, when I'm able. Since I moved into the spare room whilst my room is remodelled, I have unfortunately been unable to use them. The weights are good, I have taken to put all but two, the length doesn't allow, together to make a super-weight, which I feel, suffer really, is very heavy; 15kg seems heavy enough, to me.
Save your money, go for the 20kg set August 31, 2008 D. J. Burton (UK) 7 out of 10 found this review helpful
If you're seriously considering buying some dumbells then I would go for the 20kg set instead of this 15kg chrome set. 15kgs isn't very flexible for a decent workout unless you're wanting to focus on high repetition or "bodypump" work; after a few weeks even someone who hasn't done any weights previously will be looking to buy a few more kgs to add to the dumbells for bicep, shoulder and chest work. I also would not pay any extra for chrome weights. If all you are bothered about is how they look then you shouldn't be buying them anyway - they'll be gathering dust under your bed with 2 months! 15kg just isn't heavy enough.
