Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Big motor in a little body but.....   September 30, 2008
Chip Munk (Norfolk, UK)
Having read the good reviews on this mini fan I recently purchased one. It is true that the motor is strong and the cooling effect is better than one would expect for the size. But it is the strength of the motor which is one of the problems. This fan has some design issues. Firstly, this fan is loud, really loud. When used on a desktop it is as loud as a normal sized desk fan. Secondly, when used as a desktop fan it vibrates and constantly scoots all over the desk. As a handheld fan the body design has problems too. The surface is slippery, and too short to hold comfortably (and I have small hands!) thereby making it difficult not to foul the blades regularly when fumbling for the on/off switch. If it wasn't so cheap I would return mine.

4 out of 5 stars I'm a fan   July 30, 2008
mr medusa (London, UK)
Must agree with other reviewers that this is definitely a good portable hand fan. So can't really add to what has been said before. However I only gave it four stars because it is really noisy - I would compare it to an electric shaver for noise output. I bought this to use on the commuter trip to work (by train) and even with all the noise from paper rustling, ipods, mobiles etc ... this certainly gave that tumbleweed moment when I switched it on and everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me - so perhaps not best suited to confined spaces. Can't fault the cooling effect though!

5 out of 5 stars cool as it comes   June 24, 2008

For the size of it, you would not believe just how much air this thing pumps out. Quite amazing. It does run on aaa's, no aa's, which i was a bit annoyed at (My own fault, i didnt read the advert correctly).

This really does keep you cool, and with the adjustable postitions, its perfect for sitting next to a computer with etc.

I would say this thing is not suitable for kids, as even with the safety blades, it stings a fair amount if you touch them in motion, it really is that powerful.

But for the money, I couldnt find better. top quality

5 out of 5 stars The best of the "portable mini" range   February 20, 2008

This is the second portable fan I've bought. It is very compact with no breakable parts and is very effective. I only ever use mine in the "flat" position to hold up to my face and neck, but it can be positioned on a table so that the fan part is manoeuvred upwards, or worn around the neck.

Its fan is far more effectively cooling than the other portable type with the rotary arms, which clip down when not in use, with the added bonus of not being breakable like the "clipaway arms".

It is noisier than the clipaway version, but more efficient.

Two words of warning: it runs on two AA batteries (included) and these can be found by turning the fan over so the "blades" are face down, and sliding off the entire back of the device.
Also, if you are unfortunate to catch long hair in the rotating fan "blades", don't panic if you think your hair is irretrievably tangled and stuck in the fan! You only have to pull out the metal pin attaching the fan blade and it comes out...and your hair with it!
