Great device - it could save your life February 4, 2008 SEC (Bicester, England) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought one of these recently. It comes in a clear plastic blister pack with instructions, screws, mounting bracket and batteries. Out of the pack it looks just like a smoke detector, and is fitted the same way. It took a couple of minutes to install. It goes on the wall, held by two screws. You mount the bracket on the wall, and then slot the detector into it. The device can be reremoved easily if necessary, though the battery compartment is on the front panel. I fitted mine at the top of the staircase. Just like a smoke detector, it has test and reset buttons. The green light flashes every 30 seconds so you know it is working. It is not intrusive at all. Just as I would not live in a house without a smoke detector, I would not be without a CO detector.
PLEASE BUY ONE January 4, 2007 D. Little (Kent) 42 out of 43 found this review helpful
If you are looking at this alarm means you need one. On Tuesday 2nd January my wife and I with our 4 week old son returned from a week with my mother at Christmas. We turned the heating on and finally relaxed in front room with our son. We were dozing off when this alarm went off which was above fireplace. The emergency gas leak engineer said our back boiler had become blocked and fumes were staying in the room. I am just very relieved that I got this a few weeks before Christmas and dread to think of consequences. This alarm is simple to use. Just insert batteries and place in room. IF YOU DON'T BUY THIS ALARM THEN AT LEAST BY A DIFFERENT ONE.
Peace of mind March 14, 2006 G. Smith (England, UK) 36 out of 40 found this review helpful
Low price to pay for peace of mind. The LED (light) on it flashes on it periodically to let you know it is working - this is very reassuring.
