Handy little lights for your home or car November 26, 2008

Although I had read the reviews I decided to pick up a set of these on a recent Friday Sale. I figured for $10 shipped if they didn't work any better than the ones I find at the dollar store I would only be out a few dollars more, but could have them delivered to me.
Even knowing that they were compact, the small box surprised me when I opened it up. I did appreciate that they included 9 mercury-free Panasonic batteries so that I didn't have that additional expense. After looking them over I am a bit worried about how lightweight they are and that they won't be weather resistant. Anyways I popped the batteries in (3 for each) and turned one of them on. I believe I was probably capable of directing planes in to land at that point because as someone else mentioned don't look at them directly or shine at someone, they are as advertised: SUPER BRIGHT!
So far none of them have quit on me, but if I do experience the problems others have had I am sure it'll be during a storm when needed most, but until then these seem to be worth the price I paid.

Out of the box, all three worked - very bright. About an hour later, one of them would not turn on, and another would come on dim. I changed out batteries and traded out caps (the switch is in the cap), but the problem appears to be connectivity between the ground connection of the little LED circuit board and the flashlight body.
The second one finally quit a few days later, but the third one still works well. It's the silver one, and I suspect the color treatment of the other two is what killed the conductivity.
While the price is good, I'm left with only one working flashlight. I wouldn't recommend this purchase.

Like many people, only 2 of my 3 lights worked. My gunmetal grey turned on for a minute, then died completely. The problem is not a dead battery -- inserting the same batteries into the other 2 lights works just fine.
Additionally, the rubber on/off nub on the butt of one of the flashlights has a cosmetic defect. It is dented in. The strap is flimsy and ugly, but you can easily replace them, so not much of an issue.
One of my battery cages came w/o any stickers to indicate battery polarity. (The coily springs go on the butt (-) side of the battery. Then the entire battery cage goes (+) side down into the barrel). What is a possible danger is the front rim of the tube.
The tube is not very thick, and it's all hard edges, offering the real possibility of cutting yourself against the rim if you happen to catch it at a wrong angle. It is not rounded and smoothed like the top of a soda can.
All in all, quality control standards are subpar. Light is bright, but Denali is probably not a brand I will buy from again.

For the money, This little flashlight set looks to be just about perfect. I got some similar lights from another company at work and wanted to get something similar for home. These 9-LED lights are a very similar design, yet the 9-LED Denali lights are much brighter than my work 12-LED light. The case appears pretty rugged and the switch action is positive.
The batteries included were Panasonics, not a no-name brand, and small lanyards were included and pre-attached. For less than $5 per flashlight, they're a steal.

It's chaep, but there's one not working when I received the pack(3 in apack). Amazon Customer Service solved my problem very quickly and friendly. The service from Amazon is trustworthy!!!
